Why My Hypnobirthing Antenatal Course Will Truly Benefit and Support You (And Your Partner!!)

Hi, I’m Kellie. I am a midwife and hypnobirthing teacher and mother, amung other things.

If you’re pregnant and wondering how best to prepare for birth and early parenthood, I want to tell you a bit about my Hypnobirthing Antenatal Course and how it can support you, not just with birth, but with everything that comes with welcoming your baby.

We’ll dive deep into relaxation techniques and mindset work to help you feel calm, confident and empowered for birth. You’ll understand how your body works in labour and how to support it with breath, movement, and environment, no matter where you chose to give birth!

Here’s what we'll cover:

Relaxation Practice- Each session includes guided relaxation to help you connect with your baby and switch off.

Birth Physiology & Optimal Positioning- Learn how labour works and how you can use movement and positioning to help things progress more smoothly.

Baby Care Basics- From nappy changes to dressing your baby, swaddling, and babywearing safely, you’ll have the chance to practice and ask questions.

Safe Sleep- We’ll talk about what safe sleep looks like and how to set up a space that works for you and your baby.

Feeding Support- Whether you’re planning to breastfeed, bottle feed, or a mix of both, you’ll get non-judgemental, evidence-based guidance and space to explore your options.

At-Home Video Content - You’ll also get access to helpful videos to watch in your own time, so you can revisit topics and keep learning at your own pace.

Open, Honest Conversation- This is a safe, welcoming space. No question is too small or silly. We talk, we laugh, we learn together.

Partners are Involved Too!  I love seeing how partners grow in confidence through this course. Dads, co-parents and birth partners are fully included. They’ll learn how to support you and ask their own questions too, this experience is for both of you.

It’s About Birth and Beyond

This course isn’t just about preparing for a positive birth, it’s about feeling ready to become a parent. The early days with your baby can be magical and challenging in equal measure. When you’ve had the time, space and support to prepare together, everything feels more manageable.

If you’re looking for a friendly, down-to-earth, evidence-based course that helps you prepare not only for birth but for those first precious weeks with your baby this course is for you.

It’s Not Just for “Crunchy Mums”.

By Kellie – Midwife, Hypnobirthing Teacher, and Mother

When people hear the word hypnobirthing, they often picture a certain type of person...

You know the one-barefoot in the forest, burning incense, sipping raspberry leaf tea while chanting affirmations by candlelight. And while that mum is absolutely welcome (and I might even be a bit of her too!), I want to be really clear:

Hypnobirthing is not just for “crunchy” mums.
It’s for every mum.

Whether you’re planning a water birth at home or you feel more at ease in a hospital setting with all the pain relief on offer…
Whether you love essential oils and meditation or you’ve never done a single yoga class in your life…
Whether you’re hoping for a calm vaginal birth or you're preparing for a caesarean…

Hypnobirthing is for you.

So What Is It, Really?

Hypnobirthing isn’t about having a “perfect” birth or doing things a certain way. It’s about:

  • Understanding how your body and mind work together in labour

  • Learning practical tools like breathing, relaxation, and mindset techniques to reduce fear and tension

  • Feeling more informed so you can make choices that feel right for you

  • Bringing your birth partner into the picture so they feel calm, confident, and genuinely helpful on the day

You don’t need to be spiritual or alternative. You just need to be curious and open to preparing for birth in a way that supports your emotional and mental wellbeing, not just your physical body.

Birth Can Be Empowering

As a midwife, hypnobirthing teacher and mum, I’ve seen time and time again how this approach helps women feel more calm, in control, and confident- even when birth doesn’t go to plan. Because hypnobirthing isn’t about what happens. It’s about how you feel as it happens.

You deserve to go into birth feeling strong, safe and supported, whatever kind of birth you’re planning.

Want to Give It a Go?

I’m running a group hypnobirthing course at the end of this month, and I’d love to see you there. It’s a relaxed, welcoming space.

You can also book a 1:1 course with me if you’d prefer something more personal.

Check out the Upcoming Courses section of my website to see what’s available. If you’re not sure what’s right for you, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to chat.

Let’s make this birth the empowering experience you deserve.

With love,
Kellie

What is Hypnobirthing? And Is It For Me?

By Kellie – Midwife, Hypnobirthing Teacher, and Mother

If you’ve been hearing the term hypnobirthing and wondering what on earth it actually means or whether it’s something you should explore for your own birth, you're in the right place.

As a midwife, hypnobirthing teacher, and mother myself, I’m passionate about supporting women and families to feel informed, calm, and confident going into birth. Hypnobirthing is one of the most powerful tools I’ve come across in my career and in my own personal experience of giving birth. So let’s break it down.

What is Hypnobirthing?

Hypnobirthing is a complete approach to childbirth education. It combines knowledge about how your body works in labour with tools to support a calm, positive mindset. It draws on techniques like:

  • Breathing methods to stay relaxed and focused

  • Deep relaxation and visualisation

  • Understanding how fear affects the body in labour

  • Practical ways for birth partners to support you

  • Making informed choices about your care

Despite the name, there’s no swinging watch or clucking like a chicken involved! It’s about learning how to work with your body, rather than against it, and creating the best conditions for your birth to unfold as smoothly as possible—however that looks for you.

Is It Just For Homebirth or Natural Birth?

Absolutely not. Hypnobirthing can support every kind of birth, whether you’re planning a homebirth in the pool, a hospital birth with an epidural, or even a planned caesarean. It’s about reducing fear, increasing your confidence, and helping you feel calm and informed every step of the way.

Is Hypnobirthing Right For Me?

If you’re looking for:

  • A more positive mindset around birth

  • Tools to help you stay calm and in control

  • Ways for your birth partner to feel more involved

  • Support in making informed decisions

  • A deeper trust in your body and baby

...then yes, hypnobirthing is absolutely for you.

Whether you’re feeling anxious about birth, curious about how to prepare, or just want to make this experience as empowering as possible, I’d love to support you.

Ready to Get Started?

I’m currently offering a group hypnobirthing course starting at the end of this month, with more dates coming soon. This is a lovely way to connect with others preparing for birth, learn together, and build your confidence.

If you’d prefer something more personalised, you can also arrange a 1:1 course with me.

Check your insurance policy, you will usually be able to claim back on Antenatal Education (this course is antenatal education) taught by a Registered Midwife (me, Kellie :) ).

Head over to the Upcoming Courses section of my website to see what’s coming up and book your spot.

I’d be honoured to support you on this journey.

With love,
Kellie
